From other information supplied to me I feel it is possible that BP is guilty of taking shortcuts to increase profits and help result in the disaster in the Gulf Of Mexico.
Yet, I also do not feel the Obama administration is justified in extorting funds from BP in the way that they did.
Stuff happens everyday. It often is someones fault and it costs me money. But I don’t get to sue them, even if the loss is substantial, do you?
Yet, from what came out of the White House yesterday it seems there will be only vague guidelines to determine who gets to win a piece of the BP lottery pot. Those undeserving I am sure will get money. Many who are deserving won’t.
The beat goes on.
While definitely a friend of big oil, Representative Joe Barton of Texas apologized to BP for what he termed a White House “shakedown” of the company due to its mistake.
This is unprecedented.
I applaud Rep. Barton for being man enough to say so, because even his Republican colleagues are distancing themselves from him.
And Rep. Barton made it clear he was only speaking for himself, unlike when Obama goes around the globe apologizing to our enemies for protecting our interests.
