Today I’m indebted to Ed Steer of GATA and Casey Research’s Daily Resource Plus
for this shot of a Woolworth’s diner menu circa 1950’s.
Prices are a bit different, eh?
The interesting comparison, of course, would be if the menu were denominated in gold or silver - my guess is that prices would be about the same in those currencies.
In that same venue, Ed posted an article indicating that McDonald’s is being forced to change, change not being specified, their highly popular dollar menu due to price increases in beef and chicken currently being born by franchisees.
