Bernanke Is Person Of The Year, But In A Bad Way!

Posted by Roger in December 22nd 2009

Seeing Helicopter Ben Bernanke named as Time’s “Person of the Year” almost made me puke as hard and as violently as seeing Obama given a Nobel Peace Prize for what the world “hopes” he will do. (BTW, Obama’s first year approval ratings have plummeted like no other President before him!)
But as this guest editorial from [...]

Senator Jim Bunning Rips Bernanke a New One At Nomination Hearing

Posted by Roger in December 5th 2009

Senator Jim Bunning is the only Senator to vote against Ben Bernanke the first time and now he is leading the charge against him the second time.
Senator Bunning uses Bernanke’s own past statements to burn him and in Bernanke’s brief response you can easily perceive that his voice is unsteady.
13 minutes, WELL worth watching.

End the Fed – By Ron Paul

Posted by Roger in August 28th 2009

Congressman Ron Paul has long been on a campaign to educate the American people on the Federal Reserve, a PRIVATE institution that almost no one understands. Now he has released a new book titled “End the Fed“.
This comes at a time when uber-idiot (my opinion based on video before & after financial crisis) Congressman Barney [...]

The Incredible Shrinking Dollar

Posted by Roger in August 3rd 2009

Another failure of government, or is it planned?
The Federal Reserve, a privately owned institution with WAY more power than the United States constituency should allow it, has the primary purpose of protecting the value of our currency, the U.S. Dollar.
How they doin’?
Quick visual report card:
You decide.
My vote? To quote Donald Trump “You’re Fired!”
What do you [...]

Yes, Currency Debasement DOES Matter

Posted by Roger in June 17th 2009

I think currency debasement is much like the frog getting slowly cooked in the kettle, you just don’t seem to notice the effects.
My thanks to Ed Steer over at Casey’s Daily Resource Plus for the following two pictures of a 1929 postcard.
Look what a few dollars would buy in car parts and labor in 1929:

Now [...]

Jim Rogers Tells Fund Managers to Become Farmers

Posted by Roger in June 4th 2009

Jim Rogers was interviewed in IndiaTimes about his outlook on stock markets, commodities and countries to invest or avoid.
On stocks, Rogers says he won’t short markets because even poor stock markets can go to unheard of heights when price in currencies that are becoming more worthless. He feels a currency crisis is within the near [...]

Recent Speeches by Richard W. Fisher, Dallas Fed

Posted by Roger in May 28th 2009

Richard W. Fisher, the current president of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank, is well known for his eloquent speeches.
Two recent speeches are, as usual, quite instructive (the first is also rather long).
The first one listed below took place at the University of Beijing, China in April 2009. The second was held on May 15th, in [...]

Should Washington Just Do Nothing?

Posted by Roger in April 10th 2009

You know, I’ll admit that I personally rejoice when the government (any government) runs out of money, closes up shop and sends everyone home. At least on THAT DAY they won’t be messing with our lives. In other words, government is doing nothing.
Here’s a guest editorial from Terry Coxon of the Casey Report. I hope [...]

Richard Russell Bullish On Gold

Posted by Roger in March 25th 2009

His largest position since 1958
Richard Russell, legendery investment guru still going strong in his 80’s, stated a few days ago that the gold position he began building in 1999 is now about 30% of his portfolio.
Russell originally built his “grubstake” in 1958 by being heavily into a position (the stock market) and being right on [...]

When Bernanke Says All Is Well, Is It?

Posted by Roger in March 24th 2009

This guest editorial from Casey Research pretty well sums up Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke’s comments – and what you should do about it.
When Bernanke Says All Is Well, It’s Time to Duck and Cover
By the editors of Casey Research
“We’ve averted” the risk of a depression, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said this week. “Now the [...]
