What I Tell Myself When Gold Sells Off
By Jeff Clark
BIG GOLD - Casey Research
Psychologists say decisions aren’t made simply on what you hear from others but also on what you hear in your own inner dialog. With investing, that can be the kiss of death if you let either fear or euphoria dominate the conversation.
So [...]

GATA Exposes Flaw in Mike Shedlock Analysis

Posted by Roger in August 28th 2008

Jon Nadler of Kitco seeks out the stories he wants to report (IMHO). He sought out that Dennis Gartman was bearish on gold, ignoring that the Aden Sisters were still bullish - after he himself referenced their work to conclude they would be bearish. When they disappointed him, he quoted Dennis instead.
Now Jon has quoted [...]

Dennis Gartman Bearish on Gold — Again

Posted by Roger in August 28th 2008

Dennis Gartman is calling for strength to be sold in the gold market as he feels that gold is in bear mode.
Don’t get me wrong, I have great respect for Dennis if for no other reason than his ability to get up so early EACH and EVERY morning! But Dennis, would you like to make [...]

Northern Dynasty Minerals Update - a la Peter Grandich

Posted by Roger in August 28th 2008

Since Peter Grandich is unfortunately inactive due to illness, I thought I would post this update on Northern Dynasty Minerals, one of Peter’s favorite stocks:
A state clean water initiative aimed to stop development of the huge Pebble copper-gold project in Alaska has gone down to defeat. This is good news for all Alaskan explorers and [...]

The Aden Sisters Still Bullish

Posted by Roger in August 28th 2008

The Aden Sisters have long held a reputation for understanding the markets, particularly with precious metals. Jon Nadler of Kitco took GREAT DELIGHT in reporting that gold broke below $819 sufficiently enough to trigger what the Aden Sisters had called for as a signal that the gold bull was over.
But only today did Kitco.com release [...]

The lastest edition of Without Borders from Casey Research was just released and boy is it packed with the right info at the right time.
Just when your friend from Kitco, Jon Nadler, is quoting some analyst with 3 names who claims that the U.S. Dollar is embarking on a MAJOR BULL MARKET (have you EVER [...]

Dow Jones Industrial Average Posts First Quarterly Loss EVER

Posted by Roger in August 26th 2008

Thanks to Casey Chart’s for providing this graph of the Dow Jones Industrial Average quarterly earnings. As you can see, this is the first time EVER that the Dow has posted a loss. The Price to Earnings, or P/E, ratio is now listed at “Nil”. So much for one of Wall Streets favorite metrics.
So who [...]

The Building Storm: Gold, the Dollar and Inflation
By: David Galland
Managing Editor - The Casey Report
Casey Research
One could hardly fail to notice that gold investors have suffered a little more than a “bit of pain” over the past month. More like a good kicking as gold moved down by about 20% from its recent high of [...]

Taking Toilet Paper to the Bank

Posted by Roger in August 21st 2008

The other day I stopped at the bank, just to make sure they were still solvent, and as I’m walking in I notice this young lady with a couple of 18 packs of toilet paper under her arm also entering the bank. (I know, I know, I have kicked myself until I am blue in [...]

Jim Rogers Current Commodity Outlook

Posted by Roger in August 21st 2008

Jim Rogers, commodity guru who moved to Singapore last year from New York, was interviewed in Bangkok yesterday and asked about his outlook on commodities in light of the recent slaughter.
Bottom line: “I don’t see that it’s the end of the bull market,” Rogers replied. “At least not until a lot of supply comes online [...]
